About
I was born in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in Florida—and it seems I'm slowly but surely making my way back towards the Great Lakes. I started working in libraries as an undergraduate, and since then, I've never looked back. Throughout the years, I've had the opportunity to work at some great universities, expanding my skills, insights, and leadership. I currently serve as an Associate Dean at Carnegie Mellon, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Outside of work, I'm constantly seeking to improve my health, fitness, and mindful practices. You'll often find me walking—aiming for at least 12,000 steps each day, usually with an audiobook or podcast playing.
I am fascinated by the intersection of creativity & the process of organizing information and ideas. How do we gather and structure the vast array of tasks, plans, notes, and thoughts that simultaneously overwhelm and inspire us? I am passionate about personal knowledge management and always eager to learn about different approaches from others. Whether I'm collaborating with visual artists, roboticists, startups, or students, my focus is dedicated to helping people make sense of the information that surrounds them—and organizing their actions effectively. Ultimately, my goal is to empower and embolden individuals and teams to think, sketch, build, code, analyze, explore, question, dream, design, share, or engage with the world. I strive to help people transform ideas into outcomes that positively impact both themselves and others.
